About Center For HOPE
Center For HOPE was founded with a passion for helping individuals and families overcome trauma and find healing. Our team of dedicated Hope Navigators provide individual support, family support, and trauma recovery services to support our clients on their journey towards a brighter future. We believe in the power of hope to transform lives and are committed to making a positive impact in the Jackson community.
Center for Hope is a unique space where comprehensive programs, experts and city agency partners join together to foster positivity, safety and success for children, youth and adults. The first of its kind in Jackson, Center for Hope is a model for employing integrated programs and services designed to break the cycle of violence and its lifelong impact for victims from the cradle to old age.
Children who have endured or witnessed abuse can find comfort, nurturing and healing from the Center’s H.O.T. (Helping Our Teens) programs and its more than 30 years of experience providing hope and strength for thousands of children throughout Mississippi.
Keisha Coleman serves as the co-founder of Center for HOPE, a grassroot violence prevention organization that is a part of the City of Jackson’s Office Of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery Eco System. Center for HOPE, formerly H.O.T. in MS (Helping Our Teens) In Mississippi was birthed in 2007 as the city of Jackson was searching for solutions to the alarming number of teen dating violence occurrences and as a call to action to the death of LaTasha Norman; a JSU student murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Mrs. Keisha co-founded Center for HOPE in 2023, as a vehicle to combat disinvestment, poverty, interpersonal violence, high crime, human trafficking and other socio-economic factors plaguing the Black and Brown communities. What started out as a vision has manifested into a strategy that has assisted in 23 minor victims of trafficking taken off the street, 100+ domestic violence interventions and referrals, 26 families seeking wrap-around services to strengthen their family, and most notably the FIRST human trafficking residential facility for minor victims of trafficking in the state. Keisha has worked over twenty-four years making an effort to eradicate racism, improve the community and save lives. She made a conscious decision to make HOPE a lifestyle and to exhibit the same love to the perpetrator and victim, understanding they are both influenced by their traumatic conditions and experiences.
